I am currently enthralled by Memoirs of a Geisha. This is such an awesome novel. The author is so descriptive that I feel like I can see every scene in my mind and can imagine that I'm right there in the story. I never knew much about Geisha before, and the training that they go through but now I'm hooked and will be doing a lot of historical research. I think it would have been so awesome to be a Geisha at that time. Maybe I'll dress up as one this year for Halloween. There's something so mystical and sensual about them, that I would love to be able to emulate even a portion of what they portrayed.

I should finish the novel today, and since I'm taking an extra day off work, will be headed to Borders this afternoon to pick up something new on the same subject. If any of you get a chance to read Memoirs of a Geisha, I definitely recommend it. It will take you back in time and let you live in the world of fantasy for just a little bit.
