The fires here in Carson City are much contained since yesterday. I have never seen anything like it, and hope not to again. Several hundred homes were evacuated, as well as the BunnyRanch. Everyone is back today, but the landscape is charred and severely changed. They aren't calling for rain anytime soon, so I hope the wind stays calm until the fire is out. Too bad Nevada, Utah and New Mexico can't have some of the rain they are getting in DC and Virginia. Those people are being flooded out of their businesses and homes. Mother Nature does have an attention getting method of reminding us who's the boss.
My friend, Audrey, got me this great book called The Celestine Prophesy. It's been out and published for some time now, but I had never heard of it. It is said to be fiction, but as I read it I find so many things that make sense. It talks a lot about reading energy, and I'm not sure about that yet, but I do believe that every living thing has their own energy. I've just never been able to see it and don't know of anyone else that has either. But, anyway, it talks about the unconscious and conscious way we have of controlling each other by trying to take each other's energy. The more I read that, the more I can see it in real life. When you have a conversation with someone, notice how you feel when the encounter is over. If you feel energized, then a positive exchange of energy has taken place. If you feel somewhat confused, depressed or at a loss for words or thoughts, then the person has taken your energy and added to their own. The book says that is the way that some people feel powerful and in control...by taking from others. I don't give the explanation justice, but it is a book that I would definitely recommend to everyone.
